3 hours before our flight we show up at ELAL's check-in/ security counter lest they decide to grill us or even worse open our over stuffed suitcases. We are usher right through and sent on the first of many hikes to our gate. Good thing our carry-ons are filled to the brim with activities, entertainment of all sorts and food. The cattle call and stampede to board the plane is an event only allotted to ELAL's flights.
It's a good thing the airline is known for its security and flight record, because there isn't much else that would attract people otherwise. 15 hours of sitting so close to the girl ahead of me I could practically braid her hair; entertainment that truly makes you want to kiss the ground when you arrive; and food with the best feature being my kids happy to have their names pronounced correctly for a change.
We arrive, pass through passport control and pick up or FREE luggage trolleys. My kids LOVE that they are free, so the each take one. Free is Free. Our cases are gathered and we pass through the customs in seconds. My sister greets us at the airport, delivers hugs, kisses, cold drinks and kosher Dorritos (gotta love it!) and whisks away a cart full of luggage and a couple of kids. Our rental car is obtained and we make our way to our home for the next month, Nachal Ein Gedi, Ramat Beit Shemesh, ISRAEL!
